A plan of measures to increase the number of sheep livestock was discussed in the regional ministry

In early June, the Acting Governor of Transbaikalian Region Natalya Zhdanova set the task before the regional Ministry of agriculture of increasing the number of sheep to 1 million. As experts note, in the last five years in the collective farms there is a decrease in livestock by almost 8%, while in the private farms there is a gradual increase.

To increase the number of livestock a road map was developed. Its activities include the preservation of the gene pool of stud sheep and goats, selling of stud livestock to newly established and developing regional businesses, increasing the breeding stock and lamb crop to the indicators of expanded reproduction, as well as recruiting and training, creation and restoration of material-technical base, development of fodder and veterinary support. As noted by many of the heads of households today, the most pressing issue in the development of the industry is the lack of personnel.

In the end, all came to a consensus that in order to achieve the performance the state program with financing all the events is required. For now it was only the first organizational meeting.
